The account offers an annual contribution limit of $8,000 and a lifetime contribution limit of $40,000, subject to current federal legislation. Unused contribution room may be carried forward within applicable limits, and unused FHSA savings may generally be transferred to an RRSP or RRIF on a tax-deferred basis if the account is not used to purchase a qualifying home. Eligibility, contribution limits, investment options, transfers, withdrawals and all account provisions are subject to applicable tax legislation and the terms and conditions established by Equitable.

Investment earnings, including interest, dividends and capital gains, are generally not subject to income tax while held in the account, and qualifying withdrawals are tax-free. Unused contribution room carries forward to future years, and amounts withdrawn are generally added back to contribution room in the following calendar year. Eligible contributions are generally tax-deductible, and investments within the account can grow on a tax-deferred basis until funds are withdrawn. Equitable offers RRSPs with access to a range of eligible investment solutions, including segregated funds and guaranteed interest products, allowing investors to build retirement savings based on their financial objectives and risk tolerance. Contributions may be made up to the annual limits established under Canadian tax legislation, and eligible transfers from other registered plans are also available. Withdrawals are generally taxable unless made under qualifying government programs such as the Home Buyers' Plan (HBP) or Lifelong Learning Plan (LLP), where applicable. Contribution limits, investment options, transfers, withdrawals, eligibility and all account provisions are subject to applicable tax legislation and the terms and conditions established by Equitable.
Life Income Fund (LIF)
Life Income Fund (LIF) is a registered retirement income account offered by Equitable. The account allows investments to remain tax-deferred while generating income throughout retirement. Equitable's Life Income Fund offers access to a range of eligible investment solutions, including segregated funds and guaranteed interest products, enabling retirees to manage their retirement assets according to their financial objectives and risk tolerance. Annual withdrawals are subject to legislated minimum and maximum limits, which vary depending on the applicable pension jurisdiction. Investment growth continues on a tax-deferred basis while assets remain in the account, and withdrawals are generally taxable when received. Investment options, withdrawal limits, eligibility, transfers and all account provisions are subject to applicable federal or provincial pension legislation, Canadian tax laws and the terms and conditions established by Equitable.
Locked-in Retirement Account (LIRA)
Locked-in Retirement Account (LIRA) is a registered retirement savings account offered by Equitable. It is designed to hold pension funds transferred from a registered pension plan when an individual leaves an employer, while preserving the funds for retirement in accordance with applicable pension legislation. Investments within the account continue to grow on a tax-deferred basis until retirement income is withdrawn through an eligible retirement income vehicle. Equitable's LIRA provides access to a range of eligible investment options, including segregated funds and guaranteed interest products, allowing plan holders to invest according to their financial objectives and risk tolerance. Because pension funds are locked in, withdrawals are generally not permitted before retirement except in limited circumstances permitted under applicable legislation. At retirement, eligible assets may typically be transferred to retirement income products such as a Life Income Fund (LIF) or used to purchase an annuity. Investment options, transfers, unlocking provisions, eligibility and all account terms are subject to applicable federal or provincial pension legislation, Canadian tax laws and the terms and conditions established by Equitable.
Registered Retirement Income Fund (RRIF)
Registered Retirement Income Fund (RRIF) is a registered retirement income account offered by Equitable. Equitable's RRIF provides access to a variety of eligible investment options, including segregated funds and guaranteed interest products, allowing retirees to manage their investments according to their financial goals and risk tolerance. The account requires a minimum annual withdrawal beginning each year after the RRIF is established, while there is generally no maximum withdrawal amount unless the funds are subject to locked-in pension legislation. Withdrawals are generally taxable in the year they are received. Investment options, withdrawal requirements, transfers, eligibility and all account provisions are subject to applicable Canadian tax legislation and the terms and conditions established by Equitable.

Optional features such as guaranteed payment periods and indexing may also be available, depending on the contract selected.
