This coverage helps families focus on their child's care rather than financial concerns during a difficult time. Life with Long-term Care Advance is a hybrid life insurance solution from Desjardins Insurance that combines permanent life insurance with Long-term Care Advance benefits in a single policy. It is designed to provide lifelong life insurance protection while offering financial support if the insured requires long-term care in the future. If the insured becomes eligible for long-term care benefits under the terms of the policy, a tax-free monthly benefit is paid to help cover the cost of daily care and other eligible expenses. These payments are made as an advance of the life insurance benefit, meaning the total life insurance amount is reduced by the benefits paid for long-term care. If no long-term care benefits are used, the full eligible life insurance benefit remains payable to the beneficiary upon the insured's death. Coverage is subject to the policy's terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions
Life with Critical Illness Advance

This advance can be used for any purpose, including medical expenses, replacing lost income or supporting personal and family needs during recovery. Because the payment is made as an advance of the life insurance benefit, the remaining death benefit is reduced by the amount paid for the critical illness advance. If the insured is never diagnosed with a covered critical illness, the full eligible life insurance benefit remains payable to the designated beneficiary upon death. Coverage is subject to the policy's terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions.
First Home Savings Account (FHSA)
The First Home Savings Account (FHSA) is a registered savings and investment account designed to help eligible Canadians save for the purchase of their first home. It combines key advantages of both an RRSP and a TFSA by allowing eligible contributions to be tax-deductible while permitting tax-free withdrawals when the funds are used to purchase a qualifying first home. An FHSA can hold a variety of eligible investment products, including Guaranteed Investment Certificates (GICs), mutual funds, segregated funds and other qualified investments, allowing savings to grow on a tax-free basis while they remain in the account. If the funds are used for an eligible first home purchase, qualified withdrawals are generally tax-free. If the account is not used to purchase a home, under certain conditions the accumulated savings may be transferred to an RRSP or RRIF without immediate tax consequences. Annual and lifetime contribution limits are established by the Government of Canada. Eligibility, contribution rules, transfers, withdrawals and investment options are subject to applicable legislation and the terms of the financial institution.
Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA)
The Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA) is a registered savings and investment account that allows Canadians to grow their savings and investments tax-free. Investment income earned within a TFSA—including interest, dividends and capital gains—is not taxed, and qualified withdrawals can generally be made without paying income tax. A TFSA offers flexible access to your money, making it suitable for both short-term and long-term financial goals. It can be used to save for emergencies, major purchases, travel, education, retirement or any other personal objective. Depending on your investment strategy, a TFSA can hold a variety of eligible investments, including Guaranteed Investment Certificates (GICs), mutual funds, segregated funds and other qualified investment products. Annual contribution limits are established by the Government of Canada, and unused contribution room can generally be carried forward to future years. Eligibility, contribution rules and investment options are subject to applicable legislation and the terms of the financial institution.
Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP)
The Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) is a registered retirement savings and investment account designed to help Canadians build long-term wealth for retirement while benefiting from valuable tax advantages. Eligible contributions to an RRSP are generally tax-deductible, helping reduce taxable income in the year they are made, while investment earnings grow on a tax-deferred basis until funds are withdrawn. An RRSP can hold a wide range of eligible investments, including Guaranteed Investment Certificates (GICs), mutual funds, segregated funds and other qualified investment products, allowing investors to build a diversified retirement portfolio based on their financial objectives and risk tolerance. Funds are generally intended for retirement income, although certain government programs, such as the Home Buyers' Plan (HBP) and the Lifelong Learning Plan (LLP), may allow eligible withdrawals under specific conditions. Annual contribution limits are established by the Government of Canada, and unused contribution room can generally be carried forward to future years. Eligibility, contribution rules, withdrawals and investment options are subject to applicable legislation and the terms of the financial institution.
Registered Retirement Income Fund (RRIF)
The Registered Retirement Income Fund (RRIF) is a registered retirement income account designed to provide Canadians with a tax-efficient way to convert their retirement savings into a regular source of income. An RRIF is commonly established by transferring assets from a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) when retirement begins or before the RRSP maturity deadline. Investments held within an RRIF continue to grow on a tax-deferred basis while the account remains active. Unlike an RRSP, contributions cannot be made to an RRIF. Instead, the account is intended to provide retirement income through mandatory minimum annual withdrawals, while allowing account holders to choose when and how to withdraw additional funds based on their financial needs. An RRIF can hold a variety of eligible investments, including Guaranteed Investment Certificates (GICs), mutual funds, segregated funds and other qualified investment products. Withdrawals are generally taxable as income in the year they are received. Eligibility, withdrawal requirements, investment options and tax treatment are subject to applicable legislation and the terms of the financial institution.
Non-Registered Investments
The Non-Registered Investment Account is an investment account that allows individuals to invest without the contribution limits and withdrawal restrictions associated with registered plans. It is designed for investors who have maximized their registered accounts or who wish to invest additional funds while maintaining flexibility in how they save and access their money. A Non-Registered Investment Account can hold a variety of eligible investment products, including Guaranteed Investment Certificates (GICs), segregated funds and other available investment solutions offered by Desjardins. Unlike registered plans such as a TFSA or RRSP, contributions to a non-registered account are not tax-deductible, and investment income—including interest, dividends and capital gains—is generally taxable according to applicable tax rules. Investors can add or withdraw funds at any time, subject to the terms of the selected investment products. Investment options, taxation and account features are subject to applicable legislation and the terms of the financial institution.

MLTI – Guarantee Advantage® (Market-Linked Term Investment)
MLTI – Guarantee Advantage® is a market-linked term investment (MLTI) issued by Desjardins Financial Security Life Assurance Company. Depending on the selected investment option, Guarantee Advantage may provide a guaranteed minimum return at maturity together with the potential for additional market-linked growth within predetermined limits. The investment carries no management fees, requires a minimum investment of $500 and is available in eligible registered and non-registered plans, including RRSPs, TFSAs and RRIFs. As an insurance contract issued by a life insurer, it also provides a 100% death benefit guarantee, allows beneficiary designation for faster transfer of proceeds outside the estate where applicable, and may offer creditor protection in eligible circumstances. Investment terms, participation rates, return calculations, surrender provisions and product availability are determined by the applicable campaign and contract terms established by Desjardins.
Redeemable Savings
Redeemable Savings is a guaranteed investment product designed for individuals who want to earn a guaranteed return while maintaining the flexibility to access their money before maturity. It is suitable for short-term financial goals where capital preservation and liquidity are both important. The principal investment is guaranteed, and interest is earned at a fixed rate according to the product terms. Unlike non-redeemable term investments, Redeemable Savings allows investors to redeem their investment before the maturity date, subject to the applicable conditions. Depending on the selected account type, this investment may be held in eligible registered and non-registered plans. Interest rates, redemption conditions, eligibility requirements and investment terms are determined by Desjardins and may change over time.
Non-Redeemable Term Investment
Non-Redeemable Term Investment is a guaranteed fixed-term investment that provides a guaranteed interest rate for a predetermined investment period in exchange for keeping the invested funds locked in until maturity. It is designed for individuals seeking capital preservation and predictable returns over a fixed term. The principal and the agreed interest rate are guaranteed when the investment is held until the maturity date. Because the investment is non-redeemable, funds generally cannot be withdrawn before maturity except in circumstances permitted under the applicable contract. A variety of investment terms and interest payment options may be available depending on the selected product. Non-Redeemable Term Investments can be held in eligible registered and non-registered plans, including RRSPs, TFSAs, RRIFs and FHSAs. Minimum investment requirements, available terms, interest rates and other conditions are subject to the terms and conditions established by Desjardins.

Funds remain available without the long-term commitment associated with traditional term investments, making this product suitable for managing temporary cash balances, emergency savings or funds awaiting future investment. Daily Interest Investment offers capital preservation together with liquidity and may be held in eligible registered and non-registered plans, including RRSPs, TFSAs, RRIFs and FHSAs. Interest rates, minimum investment requirements, eligibility and other product features are subject to the terms and conditions established by Desjardins.

The underlying investments are managed using responsible investment criteria, integrating ESG factors into the investment process while maintaining long-term financial objectives. Depending on the selected annuity option, clients may choose different payment periods and beneficiary arrangements to meet their retirement planning needs. Eligibility, payment options, guarantees, contract provisions and investment management are subject to the applicable terms and conditions established by Desjardins Financial Security.

The investment guarantees the return of the principal at maturity, provided the investment is held for the full term. Potential returns are based on the performance of the selected market index or investment strategy and are calculated according to the participation rate, maximum return and other product terms established by Desjardins. Investors do not directly own the underlying securities or market indexes. Guarantee Advantage may be available within eligible registered and non-registered investment accounts.
